Job Description
AECOM are seeking a Senior Engineer – Water to lead design and modeling for potable water supply, firefighting, wastewater, and irrigation infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and validating engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with project requirements, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and model potable water, firefighting, wastewater, and irrigation infrastructure.
- Apply advanced modeling techniques for large water transmission projects.
- Conduct stagnation/water age and quality studies for potable water networks.
- Utilize and validate hydraulic models using engineering calculations.
- Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of infrastructure design solutions.
- Conduct technical reviews, checks, and progress reporting.
- Implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) across project lifecycles.
- Coordinate project execution, ensuring compliance with contract scope and conditions.
- Review project deliverables to ensure alignment with client requirements.
- Adhere to AECOM’s health, safety, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing design advice and technical reports.
- Lead coordination with authorities for design approvals and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing.
- Maintain expertise in UAE and KSA design guidelines and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong technical expertise and ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Adaptive learning mindset with the ability to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen to manage project budgets and timelines.
Software Proficiency:
- Hydraulic Modeling & Design: WaterGEM, SewerGEM, StormCAD, Civil 3D, InfoSWMM, MIKE URBAN, Infoworks ICM, Bentley Hammer, ARCMap, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS.
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience, with at least 5 years in UAE or GCC.
Education & Professional Certification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a water-related discipline.
- Professional recognition (Chartered Engineer or equivalent), or currently pursuing chartership.
