Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer Job Summary
Parsons are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing innovative engineering solutions for complex wet utilities projects. You will lead technical teams, manage designs, and ensure compliance with regional and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of water, wastewater, irrigation, and firefighting networks for major civil infrastructure projects.
- Use advanced hydraulic modeling tools such as Bentley WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, HAMMER, and WANDA.
- Guide and support junior engineers, CAD designers, and drafting personnel.
- Review and ensure alignment of designs with authority requirements including DEWA, DM, ADDC, ADWEA, DCD, and ADCD.
- Prepare engineering design reports, technical specifications, and utility cross-sections.
- Coordinate with utility agencies to obtain design approvals and NOCs.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and condition assessments.
- Utilize 3D software (e.g., Civil 3D, OpenRoads, OpenUtilities), and scripting tools (Dynamo, Python) for design enhancement.
- Interpret and apply relevant British, American, and regional design codes.
- Assist in preparing budgets, project schedules, and resource requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews, QA/QC processes, and mentoring initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 8–12 years of relevant design experience in water/wastewater/wet utilities engineering.
- Strong command of hydraulic modeling software and civil design tools.
- In-depth knowledge of local regulations and infrastructure authority requirements in the UAE/GCC region.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, OpenRoads, OpenUtilities, Dynamo, Python, and GIS.
- Experience in designing and reviewing pumping stations, treatment plants, and other water infrastructure.
- Familiarity with utility planning for large private and government developments.
- Track record of liaising effectively with public authorities and service providers.
- Background in training or mentoring team members in wet utility design practices.
