Senior Engineer – Water

About the Role

WSP are committed to delivering innovative and sustainable water and wet utilities solutions to meet the growing demands of the Middle East region. They are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer – Water to lead the design and technical delivery of water infrastructure projects. This is a unique opportunity to shape sustainable solutions for potable water, stormwater, wastewater, and irrigation networks while working on high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design and delivery of water and wet utilities projects, including potable water, stormwater, foul sewerage, and irrigation networks.
  • Conduct hydrological assessments, hydraulic modelling, and design activities in line with international and regional standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
  • Prepare and review design reports, drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and present tailored technical solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems, health & safety standards, and company best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 6–8 years of proven experience in water infrastructure design, ideally within consultancy or engineering firms.
  • Strong expertise in hydrological modelling and wet utilities design software (e.g., InfoWorks, EPANET, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Track record in delivering large-scale water projects, preferably in the Middle East.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and client engagement skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or actively pursuing) with a recognized institution is a plus.
