Job Opportunity: Wet Utilities Design Engineer
About the Role:
Stantec is currently seeking a Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our dynamic and collaborative team in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering infrastructure and water engineering projects, particularly focused on the design of wet utility systems including irrigation, stormwater, and wastewater networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed designs and calculations for wet utility networks using industry-standard software (e.g., Civil 3D, InfoWorks, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS).
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and BOQs in compliance with local authority standards (e.g., DM, DEWA, RTA).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate wet utilities into broader infrastructure plans.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for gravity and pressure networks.
- Support project managers and senior engineers in delivering high-quality designs on time and within budget.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure design approvals.
- Contribute to proposal preparation and feasibility studies when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 4–8 years of experience in wet utilities design, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software.
- Familiarity with UAE regulations and authority submission procedures.
- Strong understanding of utility design principles and infrastructure planning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
