Role Overview
GHD are seeking a motivated Wet Utilities Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi office. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure projects, focusing on wet utilities master planning, design, and project delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong design expertise and established relationships with UAE local authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare concept and detailed civil infrastructure designs, including technical and commercial specifications, design reports, drawings, and schedules.
- Monitor and control project budgets and timelines, taking action to meet financial targets.
- Drive high-quality drawing production in collaboration with drafting teams.
- Prepare tender submissions with cost and time estimates.
- Coordinate with municipalities, utilities, consultants, and internal multidisciplinary teams to secure approvals and maintain project alignment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
- 6–7 years’ experience, including at least 5 years in a UAE consultancy environment.
- Proven project management and client-facing skills.
- Strong network and relationships with UAE government and private clients.
- Expertise in internal and external wet utilities design, including sewer, stormwater, potable water, irrigation, firefighting, and district cooling systems.
- Proficiency with modern infrastructure modeling software.
- Excellent analytical abilities, report writing, and communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of international design standards and UAE construction practices.
