About the Role
AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer – Utilities to join their growing team in Dubai. In this role, you will lead the design, planning, and management of utility systems for diverse infrastructure projects across the UAE. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership in delivering complex utility engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive plans for water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications systems.
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of utilities in major infrastructure projects.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to deliver cost-effective, sustainable solutions.
- Design and review utility systems using AutoCAD, GIS, hydraulic modeling, and other advanced tools.
- Coordinate with local utility providers and regulatory agencies to secure permits and approvals.
- Oversee utility installation, relocation, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and BOQs with accurate cost estimates.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to strengthen project delivery.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, regulations, and sustainability practices in utility engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in utility engineering (preferably in the UAE/Middle East).
- Strong expertise in water, electricity, gas, and telecom systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software.
- Solid project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Thorough knowledge of UAE utility regulations and standards.
- Experience with utility design, relocation, and planning for infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- RTA Approved Engineer.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects within the Middle East.
- Knowledge of sustainable utility practices and renewable energy integration.
- Bilingual in English and Arabic.
