Position Overview
They are seeking an experienced Roads Engineer to join their Transportation team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will design, develop, and oversee road infrastructure projects that strengthen the Kingdom’s transportation network and support its urban development goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design of road infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Saudi and international standards.
- Conduct engineering analyses and prepare design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop innovative engineering solutions for complex challenges, particularly those unique to arid and desert environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth integration with other infrastructure systems.
- Oversee project implementation, performing quality control and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to secure approvals and meet project requirements.
- Stay current on emerging road engineering technologies, sustainable design practices, and industry trends.
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and address engineering issues on location.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 6+ years of professional experience in road design and engineering (10+ years strongly preferred).
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license or equivalent, with eligibility for Saudi registration.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/Bentley (InRoads, OpenRoads), and other road design software.
- Strong understanding of Saudi road design standards, regulations, and international best practices.
- Experience with urban and rural road projects, intersection improvements, and highway engineering.
- Knowledge of desert road engineering principles and sustainable design techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented design skills.
- Strong project management capabilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and adapt to evolving work environments.
