Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, planning, and managing wet utilities systems (irrigation, sewage, stormwater, and drainage systems) for large-scale projects in the UAE. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs, ensuring compliance with local standards and regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop wet utilities systems, including irrigation, sewage, stormwater, and drainage networks, for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for wet utilities systems.
- Reviewing hydraulic models for sewerage and pressure mains networks and providing proposals for optimizations for some of the largest and most exciting engineering projects in Dubai today.
- Ensure designs comply with local authority standards, regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate and liaise with contractors and suppliers to manage design integration and implementation.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing utilities infrastructure and provide recommendations for upgrades or modifications.
- Review and approve construction drawings and design modifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Ensure the project meets timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 – 7 years of experience in wet utilities design, preferably in Dubai or the UAE.
- Expertise in designing irrigation, sewage, stormwater, and drainage systems.
- Familiarity with local regulations, standards, and codes related to wet utilities in the UAE.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infoworks ICM, and other relevant design tools.
- Skilled in the application of BIM.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, and water network modeling software. Requires engineering knowledge in the design of sewerage/potable water networks. Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D), Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / OpenUtilities or related software and other PC software packages typically associated with wet services engineering is also required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Have strong English language speaking and writing skills.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE is highly preferred.
